7 - Next Session’s Topic: Let us pray that God would lead the Church into a proper understanding of John 21:15–17. Although Peter was the head of the Church and was commissioned by the Lord to forsake all other things in order to feed His sheep, every true disciple of Christ should hear these words as though the Lord were speaking to them personally today. In fact, this prayer topic was born as I was reading this passage. Suddenly, I found myself in tears, as it seemed that the Lord was speaking these very words directly to me. It is very clear from this passage that a servant of the Lord demonstrates love for Him by feeding His sheep. Both caring for the sheep and fishing for them through evangelism are of great importance. The Lord said to His disciples, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew4:19. The purpose of their time with the Lord was not only to learn from Him, but also to be sent out as fishers of men (Mark 3:14). While some believers receive a specific gift from God as evangelists, all disciples of Christ are called to express their love for Him by feeding His sheep—whether by fishing for them through evangelism, caring for them through discipleship, or both.
8- Closing Prayer and Thanksgiving – Thank You, Lord our God, for hearing our prayers and receiving our thanksgiving, in Jesus' name. Amen.
